This television series explores a largely unknown side of Francisco Franco’s dictatorship through Spain’s most powerful propaganda tool.
From 1943 to 1975, NO-DO (Noticiarios y Documentales) was a compulsory newsreel shown in all Spanish cinemas. In a country where television was still rare, these short films shaped public opinion, constructed an official version of reality, and helped sustain the regime’s ideology for more than three decades.
But not everything filmed made it onto the screen. This programme delves into the vast archive of footage that was never broadcast: images, reports, and stories that were rejected, censored, or deemed inconvenient. Working with a team of historians, journalists, and audiovisual experts, Archivos Secretos del NO-DO investigates what these hidden materials reveal about the mechanisms of censorship, power, and manipulation — and why they were locked away for decades in the vaults of Spain’s national film archive.
By confronting the official narrative with what was silenced, the series offers a new perspective on how history was constructed, controlled, and ultimately remembered.
Eulàlia Gòmez Duran出生於巴塞隆納，畢業於龐培法布拉大學視聽傳播系，並於巴塞隆納大學修畢電視編劇碩士學程。她執導《西班牙禁片》第一、二季，以及Minoria Absoluta製作公司旗下多部紀錄片與娛樂節目。
她的職涯始於《The Civil War in Color》——西班牙首部以上色技術重現歷史畫面的紀錄片，自此深耕檔案影像類歷史紀錄片領域。她先是擔任DMAX頻道《Spain After the War》系列的助理導演，2020年起正式升任導演。
此後，她陸續執導與共同執導多部作品，包括TV3的《55 Days at Home》、La 2的《20th-Century Spain in Color》，並執導DMAX《Francoist Megastructures》第二季，以及科普娛樂系列《Curiosities of the Earth: Spain》。
EULÀLIA GÒMEZ DURAN was born in Barcelona.
Eulàlia is the director of the first and second seasons of The Secret Archives of NO-DO and of other documentary and entertainment formats produced by Minoria Absoluta. She studied Audiovisual Communication at the University of Pompeu Fabra and completed a postgraduate degree in Television Screenwriting at the University of Barcelona.
She began her professional career at the production company working on The Civil War in Color, the first colorized documentary format, and has since participated in a wide range of productions. She has developed extensive experience in historical documentaries based on archival footage, first as assistant director of the series Spain After the War for DMAX, and from 2020 onwards as a director.
Since then, she has co-directed the documentaries 55 Days at Home (TV3) and 20th-Century Spain in Color (La 2), directed the second season of Francoist Megastructures (DMAX), and led the entertainment and educational series Curiosities of the Earth: Spain (DMAX).
